Merry Christmas!!!!

Brian and I would love to wish everyone a Merry and Safe Christmas!!!! I haven't been on for awhile because I don't have a computer and still don't. Thank goodness mom is letting me borrow hers for a little while. We only have 7 weeks left and are counting down the weeks!!! I go to the Dr on Monday and will start our 2 week appointments! I took and passed my glucose test, which was very exciting. Last Saturday we attended our childbirth preparation class and learned a lot, Brian even enjoyed it. I feel a lot more prepared for labor.

28 Weeks!!

Holy Cow I am now into the 3rd trimester with only 12 weeks left!!! I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!! Brian and I will be leaving tomorrow after work for the long trip to South Dakota and will return Sunday. Thank goodness mom and dad are willing to babysit the animals while we are gone, Tobie hates going out there b/c he gets banned to the basement and Dakota absolutely loves hanging out at the farm and getting to run free. Also tomorrow is our 3rd Anniversary!!! I am hoping I can convince him to stop and eat a nice supper along the way instead of the usual McDonalds!!!

Time To Catch You Up!!

I have been without internet since Friday and it has about killed me, you never realize how much you use something until it is gone. Brian and I have been busy this last week with a vacation, home remodeling, and cat issues.

Vacation- We went with mom, dad, Emily, Jeff, and the boys to Branson for a funfilled weekend. It was all going great until we get to the hotel and find out that Colby had thrown up. Well the last thing that he ate was a cookie I had made so of course that is what made him sick, not the powdered donut, pop tart, pringles, string cheese or Dr. Pepper that had accompanied the cookie. Colby will probably not ever eat another one of those "Cookies that made him sick". Once we got settled in the girls went on a quick shopping trip, then off to Silver Dollar City. Sunday we headed back home with a stop at Bass Pro Shop.

Home Remodeling- Brian has put up the trim in the baby's room so now I need to get a rocking chair and the room is finished and just waiting for the baby to come home!!

Cat Issues- Andrea I am with you, it would be nice to add Tobie to our Blue Cross and Shield plan. Last week Tobie was sneezing quite a bit and I mentioned to Brian I thought he had a cold, well Thursday his left eye was watering, though it got better on Friday. Sunday when we returned home his eye had gotten worse, so first thing Monday morning I called and made him an appointment for the vet. Brian being the good husband he is took Tobie to the vet for me since I couldn't get off of work. Come to find out he has an eye infection from the cold he had and we also learned that he has cataracts. Did you know cats had cataracts??? I had no clue, and Brian insist that it is a waste of money to fix them. As of tonight his eye is better with the medicine and Tobie is in a much better mood!!

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Today is mom's birthday (I won't say what year, though I think we all know it is a big one!!!!) I hope she has fun shopping with her sisters at Briarcliff today.

Dr. Appt.

We had our monthly Dr. appt yesterday with Dr. Snider, everything looked and sounded great. I love being able to hear the heartbeat at the appointment, pretty amazing!! Next month I get to do the dreaded glucose test, I am not looking forward to it, Brian says "it looks just like Sunkist", though I doubt it taste like it. After the appointment Brian and I ventured to Babiesrus and Target to register, we didn't realize how exhausting this would be, even with me researching the different brands on the internet. We did however manage to find a dresser at Babyland yesterday, so now Brian has to get the trim up in the room and we can start making it look like a nursery!!!

6 Months!!!

We only have 4 months left and I am sure it will fly by with the holiday coming up. The joys of shopping for baby furniture!!! Yesterday we were on a mission (well I was, Brian was along to make sure I didn't buy anything to expensive) to find a dresser since we are using Emily's crib. I thought we would go to Nebraska Furniture Mart find one we liked and be done. Boy was I wrong!!! After going to Nebraska Furniture Mart, USA Baby, and Babiesrus we came home empty handed. Today I shopped at Westco in Iola and Baumans and have yet to get one, I did find one but it is now discontinued and no longer available. I think that maybe I need to be less picky, but not knowing what we are having and having an attic with slanted walls for a baby's room it is hard to pick one out that isn't to girly or boyish and isn't to tall. I also don't want a cheap one that will just fall apart. So if anybody has any good stores I need to try please let me know!!! At least the baby will have some were to sleep when it comes home.

23 Weeks!!!

Well I thought I would post what is happening with the baby for the week!! This week has been an amazing weeek, we are finally feeling the baby move. Now that I can feel it, I don't think it ever stops moving especially at night when I am trying to fall asleep. Brian was able to feel it last Sunday, he put his hand on my belly and the baby kicked him twice, he was pretty amazed by that!!!

The following info is courtesy of www.pampers.com

Story time: "My favorite sound is my mother's voice when she sings or talks to me." Now that bones in her ears have hardened, your baby can hear you and prefers your voice to any other sound. Give her a daily treat by reading, talking, or singing to her. If you feel silly reading to your belly, remember that the more your baby hears your voice, the more familiar it will be to her when she's born. I think I might have to get some baby books and start reading to the baby.

Super sac: The amniotic fluid that surrounds your baby is the perfect place for her to grow into a healthy newborn. The salty fluid keeps her warm, protects her from infections, and is buoyant enough for her to exercise her developing body. Right now the amniotic sac contains about a pint of fluid, which is refreshed every three to four hours. The baby should be a very muscular baby with all the exercising that is going on in my belly!!!

Measuring up: Your baby looks like a tiny, thin newborn. She now weighs close to 1 pound and measures 9 to 10 inches, about the length of a Barbie doll.

A Major Cord:The umbilical cord is the lifeline of nutrition, carrying nutrient-rich blood back and forth from the placenta. Babies will grab the cord, twist it around, and sometimes get tangled up in it. If the cord is wrapped around the neck at birth (called nuchal cord), it will need to be slipped over the head (reduced).

My first Blog

After a fun weekend with the family, I decided that a blog would be a good way to let everyone know what is going on with Brian, me, and the arrival of the baby. So lets get started!!! On Monday 10/6 Brian and I went to the Dr for our monthly appointment and our sonogram. The sonogram went great, it was amazing seeing our baby moving around a lot, Brian even asked me "You can't feel that". Our due date has been moved up to Feb. 14th, so this upcoming Valentine's Day should be interesting. I have enclosed a pic from the Sonogram for you to enjoy.
